We take your privacy seriously - here's the straight talk on how we handle your information
Last updated: December 2024
Look, we get it - privacy policies can be a total slog to read through. But since we're asking you to trust us with your project dreams and personal info, we figured you deserve to know exactly what we do with it.
When you reach out to us or work with us, we'll collect things like your name, email, phone number, and project address. Pretty standard stuff. If you're filling out our contact form or sending us project inquiries, we'll also keep whatever details you share about your project vision.
Our website uses basic cookies to remember your preferences and make sure the site works smoothly. Nothing creepy - just the essentials to give you a better browsing experience.
We'll never sell your information to third parties. Ever. That's not how we operate. Your trust means everything to our practice, and we're not about to throw that away for a quick buck.
Here's what we actually do with the info you share:
Sometimes we need to share certain info to actually get your project done. That might include:
Project Partners: Engineers, contractors, and consultants who're working on your project need relevant details to do their job right. We only share what's necessary.
Legal Requirements: If the law requires it or there's a legitimate legal process, we might need to disclose information. Haven't happened yet in our practice, but transparency matters.
Service Providers: Our email hosting, cloud storage, and project management tools - basically the software that keeps our office running. These companies are bound by their own privacy policies and we vet them carefully.
It's your information, so you've got rights:
You can ask to see what info we have on you or request updates anytime. Just shoot us an email.
Want us to delete your info? We'll do it, though we might need to keep some records for legal or project documentation purposes.
Don't want our occasional newsletters? There's an unsubscribe link in every email, or just tell us directly.
Need your project data in a transferable format? We can arrange that for you.
We use industry-standard security protocols to protect your information. Our servers are encrypted, we use secure file transfer methods, and we're pretty paranoid about passwords. While no system is 100% foolproof, we're doing everything reasonable to keep your data safe.
All physical documents in our office are stored securely, and we shred what we no longer need. Our team's trained on privacy best practices, and we take it seriously.
We love showcasing our work, but we always ask permission first. If your project's completed and we think it'd make a great addition to our portfolio, we'll reach out for your explicit consent before photographing or publishing anything.
You're free to say no, and it won't affect our working relationship one bit. Some clients prefer privacy, and we totally respect that.
If we update this privacy policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For major changes, we'll send you a heads-up via email. We're not planning any dramatic shifts, but technology and regulations evolve.
We're based in Canada, and your information is primarily stored and processed here. Some of our service providers might be located outside Canada, but we ensure they meet Canadian privacy standards. PIPEDA compliance is something we take seriously.
Honestly, if something in here doesn't make sense or you've got privacy concerns, just talk to us. We're architects, not lawyers, so we've tried to keep this as straightforward as possible.
